Behavior Guidelines

Irvine Cornerstone understands that children learn from their experiences, and a natural process for this is experiencing cause and effect. Our purpose as educators is to facilitate this developmental phase with love and positivity. Our instructors promote comfort, kindness and safety in all situations.  If undesirable behaviors occur, a teacher will use redirection to guide and distract the child to a more desirable action. This resolution supports a child’s social emotional health and improves their capacity for self control, self confidence, trust, communication, and empathy. Teachers use a variety of techniques based on each child’s individual needs, including redirection, positive reinforcement, taking a break, and “if… then” statements.
